MIT-5: Instrument Assisted Soft-tissue Strategies (IASTS)
  • ​Two-days of soft-tissue treatment strategies.
  • Day 1:  Instrument Assisted Soft-Tissue Mobilization & Myofascial Cupping Therapy, with a certification in instrument assisted soft-tissue strategies. 
  • ​Day 2:  Blood Flow Restriction Certification.
  • ​A complete comprehensive soft-tissue strategy approach that can be put into practice first thing Monday morning.
Open to all PTs, DCs, ATCs, PTAs, and manual therapy providers.
What you will learn:
  • Contraindications and indications for instrument assisted soft-tissue strategies and interventions.
  • Develop a greater knowledge of the forces involved with IASTM, myofascial cupping and B.F.R. training. 
  • ​Develop confidence in identifying when IAST management is best utilized in patient care management.
  • Develop an evidence-based, clinically reasoned management plan for patients that would benefit from Blood Flow Restriction Training. 
  • ​Develop practical skills in assessing and managing impairments of muscle performance and soft-tissue dysfunction.
  • Develop practical treatment strategies that include the utilization of IASTS to create a local and systemic environment prepared for loading of tissues and exercise.

Course Description:
MIT-5 Instrument Assisted Soft-Tissue Management
  • MIT-5 is a two-day course that instructs the participants in the appropriate application of instrument assisted soft-tissue mobilization (IASTM) and myofascial cupping techniques, as well as, blood-flow restriction therapy. 
  • ​Course content will cover the indications, contraindications, and practical applications to common patient presentation scenarios. 
  • ​The course will be primarily lab based with supported evidence-based lectures. 
  • ​The course will include supporting online lectures to support the in-class live labs and live lectures. Participants will be required to pass an online exam by 75% to receive their credential.
